World Book Day – By Danielle

World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and most of all it’s a celebration of reading. It’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated byUNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and is marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

This is the 19th year there’s been a World Book Day, and on 3rd March 2016 children of all ages will come together to appreciate reading. The main aim of World Book Day is to encourage children around the world to enjoy and love

On World Book Day millions of £1 book tokens are sent around the world thanks to National Book Tokens Ltd. Thanks to these book tokens, you can go to a local bookseller and pick up a completely free and new book. Also, if you would like another book you can use your £1 book token to buy any other book from £2.99 and get £1 off. This is a great way to encourage young children to read more.
