Why Do Dogs Wag Their Tails? – By Anna

Dear All Dog Owners,

Some people think that dogs wag their tails because they are happy but this is proven wrong. It is a way to communicate with other dogs or humans. If they have their tail lower than its normal height it shows that the dog is feeling submissive and will give in to commands. If they wag their tails loosely it can show a dominant attitude towards the owner or anyone around them. If the tail is tucked under the body it can show fear or worry. Dogs will only wag their tails around people, other dogs, cats, horses etc.

A small high-speed wag shows that the dog is about to fight or run away and a wide wag shows welcoming friendliness towards people.

I hope that you found this useful!
